Dictator-ship

This is a message board. Many of us get along quite well - and we have vastly differing opinions. But if somone is brave enough to post their picture so as to share it with the community what happens when you (or someone else) says - My god - you are really ugly. First - you really hurt that person for no reason. Do you think they will post another picture here? Not Likely. And what does that accomplish? It is "cruelty" under the guise of "honesty". Do you really think (as I said earlier) that person doesn't know that they are unattractive or fat or look gay or......whatever? Of course they know. If you don't like the way someone looks on a message board (or the way they post - or their opinions) ignore them. That's part of the give and take of a small online community. This is different from reality - as the example that you gave about someone actually smelling bad at a concert.

As for the mods I'll repeat what I said earlier:

The mods are well within their rights to lock a thread when the thread about "where do you come from" turns into a gay bashing thread - in addition to a pointless argument thread. The mods on this board are some of the most easygoing you will ever run into on a messageboard.

I have posted on many boards and believe me - some mods make Hitler look liberal. If a mod at this board had a problem with you - you just MIGHT want to think about why instead of lashing out at them.

From what I can see, you are the one causing the problem to continue. There is a reason that PRIVATE messages are called PRIVATE. You chose to make yours public. The mods at least had the courtesy to say something to you in private instead of publically pointing fingers.

Frankly - it seems to me "Much Ado About Nothing".

I never told Mirk he was ugly. Please show me where?
After some comments he made I just asked he was gay, nothing more or less. And believe me I was not the only one who was asking him/herself that(not counting Gaz in this). Apparantly people have problems with that. At that point I believe Mirk didn't.
Then he made some comments wich were just not there to ignore. Please read the thread, I'm quoted it there. I also made 3 posts that he was very bad with words (and yes made fun of that), but that could've been an idea of me making a bit of fun how he used it's words. While reading that thread (again), that also (+ all my other comments) were never insulting and never ment. Maybe I continued it too long I see now BUT for me no reason to close the thread and again never insulted in a way 'you are ugly - you are fat'. And please show me where I was 'cruel'.

AGAIN, the reason why I did not kept the private message PRIVATE was:
I got two warnings for insulting people, again I could understand the spamming one but NOT the insulting ones (at that time, it was explained later). I privately replied but the answer was to take it up with the Admin, who never was gonna respond (I was re-directed before to the Admin, I know the drill), therefore I could not even react on those ridicilous warnings and therefore I decided to take it onto the board. Wich was good because then it was explained why I got the the warning for insultings (due to limitation in warning). All this has been said before in THIS thread

But that didn't end my thoughts (and believe me that's here for 2/3 years, in changed somewhere during that time) how the Mod's used there rights.
Another thing that bothers me is that especcially the Mods arent reading persons post properly and then the respond just isnt accurate. Of course this happens also to 'normal' users & who cares? Well I do, especially when a Mod is reacting as a Mod. Also a Mod (= in a leader's way), if narrowminded, should not only think in his or her narrowminded world, but also realize there are people that are openminded, or think differently or react differently even it is not the way the Mod would do. I'm not talking about the thread were are discussing, I mean this in general and when using Mod's rights'. A good example is closing threads when a normal discussion is there but it doesn't go the way the Mod would wanted it to go. Closing threads too punish a certain person using the Mod rights and getting back indivuality on that person but at the same time closing good threads.
Also a numerous not worth mentioning things.... (sticky's is one thing)...

No problem. Never said I was perfect. Just because I am a mod doesn't make me a perfect angel. Wouldn't life be nice if it did though??

Yes especially when being a Mod. But can I interpet that as making a mistake? Well in that case many mistakes have been made, too many & and responsibilties should be taken....

I don't keep a record of all that. I have better things to do with my memory than to remember each and every thread that has got locked over the past.

If you need an excuse - mods are not perfect. We do what we can and for the reasons we think right. If you don't agree, then fine, you're welcome to it. But don't expect us to change our mind just because you say so.
