Default digital camera

Today my husband bought me a digital camera. A Minolta G-55, a great one really but...........................I have spend 2 and a half hours reading the manuel...... And I didn`t read the parts how to connect it to the pc and how to chabge pics and so on.......................this thing is so complicated it drives me crazy. And now I found out the memorystick isn`t working or whatever it `s not doing what it should be doing. AAAAARRGGHH Now I have to go back to the store tomorrow.
I am going crazy by this thing and it needs to be working by th eweekend ands I need to know how to handle it by then.

Don't ask me how to do it, I haven't got a clue! Still have an old-fashioned camera

Sorry to hear this Inge - hope it works out for you

I've never had a problem with my camera (an HP Photosmart 320). I just plug the wire that came with the camera to the computer via the USB portal (hope it's the same word in English...). Then plug the camera to the wire and almost everything is taken care of. Except moving the pics to where I want them - I do that after they are loaded into the computer.

Good luck

What sort of connection is it? I've never had problems with mine, simply plugin a USB cable, and if you have Windows XP it automatically recognises it and gives me some options (copy pics, slideshow etc).

If you can't manage to sort it after looking at the manual for a long time then it must be complicated. I never even look at manuals for things, lolal

Neil is right - it shouldn't be that complicated. I have a universal card reader that reads 6 different type of memory cards for digital cameras. It's a USB connection that is plug and play.

same here, one thing I hate most (right after opening new CDs - ugh hate that celophane) is reading manuals. Of course, that also means that while I can use my camera and cell phone alright, I realize I am missing out on a ton of features the equipment has that I am not using. Though, waiting at doctors offices presents ideal opportunities to play with the features. lol.

The problem is if you don't have XP - you'd have to do more finger work and I wouldn't know how to do that.

I'm glad you got it fixed. I love my digital camera. It takes great pictures and it's so easy to use. I have a Kodak and it's got the docking station that hooks right up to my computer via a USB port. I just put the camera on the dock, push one button and my pics load. It's so easy. Plus, you've got the instant gratification of knowing if your pictures came out. It's great when you're on vacation. You don't have to worry about waiting until you get your pictures developed to see the shots. I've gotten so many better pictures since I've got the digital camera. Enjoy your new hobby!
