Nero's encoding sucks ass. It's bad quality and the sound is almost every time out of sync. Plus it does convert them, it just doesn't say it does.

Of course I know it converts them. My point was that if you use Nero 6 it will convert and burn, rather than you having to use a seperate program to convert the files. I've found Nero 6 to be great to be honest. Unlike with Nero 5, I've had no problems with the audio and video being out of sync, and the quality of the finished product has been fine.

I have to admit that I haven't even tried Nero 6's encoding after 5 sucked. If they really have improved it, it might be useful. Although I don't burn VCD's or SVCD's on Nero, I make my own menus and stuff with VCD-Easy.

Well I manage to find nero6 from my working office and am installing it now. Have you tried it with high - quality DVDrip DivX - files or something else? My divXs are only DVDRips and very high quality so wouldn´t want to mess them up with bad conversion...

Oh and hmm... dont think that nero can burn the subtitles too... and split the movie if/when needed.. so I quess it has to be done the hard way after all.

I´m gonna try anyway. Always nice to play with new toys.

Any luck with DVD2SVCD Ice?
