Default Do "congratulations" posts annoy you???

It seems like my post congratulating Kev on Reaching 10,000 posts has been deleted. I thought it was a pretty big land mark to go by without being mentioned.

So what do you think???

I can see the congrats on the 10,000, as that doesn't happen everyday, but the rest of it just seems to clutter up this section.

Plus, it is something that was never done here in the past. That has always been a "BJ.Com" thing to do.

I think some of them are okay like posts totals. Maybe not like 1876 or 3452. But maybe 100, 1000, 5000, 10000 since those seem to be major landmarks for people. Also getting a new job or being accepted into a college or a university or getting married or having a baby - I find those completely fine. Ones that I wouldnt find fine are: "Hey, I got out of another speeding ticket!", "I passed my Math test!", "I can play the piano five times faster than you!", "I didn't use to like mushrooms but now I do!", "I cleaned my room today!", "I acutally made something that tasted half-way decent!"..... you get the picture.

i agree that 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 are fine, but yeah the others should be scrapped as some posters here get another thousand posts every couple of weeks or so. Its funny how Thomas Andersons 5,000 thread (for example) wasnt deleted, yet Carlis 10,000 thread was deleted. That sucked!

BTW: Thanks Russ!

I really don't understand this "this annoys me" thing. People must get annoyed so much more easily than I do! Why don't just skip what they don't like? Why get annoyed by something that someone they don't even know wrote?
