Do something?

Tell me, what do you think about Iran? What are your thoughts about general opinion about these case in your country?

I think Iran should be left to their own devices. Whether those devices be nuclear, whatever. Not our business. If they want to ruin that part of the world, that's their and their victim's business.

Now if they attack us, or sell nuclear weapons to people who attack us, I would expect a proportionate response - when someone tries to kill you, you try and kill them right back. Walk softly and carry a big stick.

What if Germany started a nuclear program again? That'd be fun. France would completely freak out, not to mention Poland. Even Russia might rise an eyebrow...hehe...ahh, well, ain't going to happen again. Twice was enough, wasn't it?

So, if an innocent country were threatened with Nuclear Holocaust, you wouldn't feel any moral duty to intervene?

It IS the rest of the world's BUSINESS, actually. And business only, that's why the situation goes from bad to worst in the first place.

If Shiicrapistan threatened Kurdicrapistan with nuclear annihilation, I'd sure feel bad about it. Wouldn't induce me to go over there and risk thousands of lives of my countrymen. Till you threaten me, it's not my business.

We're talking about a part of the world where the principal form of entertainment for the past several hundred years has been coming up with new and inventive ways to lower the lowest common denominator of human behavior. Putting a bandaid on a bullethole in a place that sincerely wants to exist in the 7th Century is not a long term solution.

I don't feel a moral duty to intervene in the dealings of third-world countries, nor do I feel a moral duty to burn the tax-dollars and lives of my fellow citizens sorting out other people's problems. You wanna pay for it, try and go fix it, be my guest. Try to make me go, try to make me pay for it, well, that's called tyranny. That's a Bad Thing.

Not ignorance or arrogance. I pay attention to the news, I do my reading. Many of the countries that exist in that part of the world have displayed very little interest in joining the rest of civilization in the 21st century. Burkhas, honor killings, public stonings, chopping off of hands..the list just goes on and on.

Sure, maybe that's their culture. Maybe they like it in the simulated stone-age. Which is why I prefer it when we don't mess with what they do. Not our business. They can be wrong and evil and barbaric if they want...acting the world's ethical policeman is not going to fix backwards behavior.

To begin with drawing conclusions on that part of world based on "countries" rather than ethnic and/or religious groups is ignorant.

Then "classifying" these people as retarded or barbaric in terms of civilization when you're coming from the country of Guantanamo, who's army ran the prison of Abu Ghraib, of the great wall to be built on the border with Mexico, who threw the first and last two nuclear bombs in history on civilians,... is arrogant.


If it's done fairly and firmly (unlike these last few years), it's the necessary first step.

If Guantanamo had've been run like a prison in Iran, or North Korea, or Africa, THAT would be barbaric. I'm not saying it's nice, but it's certainly not nearly as bad as it could be. Abu Ghraib is a mistake. No excuses, the people who did that were evil. As for the Great Wall Of Mexico...well, legal immigration is fine by me - a B&E job on a nation's border is a crime.

Thing is though, I'm not guilty for any of the crimes that have ever been perpetrated by nation. I'm sure you've seen me, throughout the years, be more than critical of this nation's crimes. I can and will call it like I see it. And for us to have been guilty in the past doesn't make those doing evil somewhere else any less evil. Doesn't mean it shouldn't be pointed out as evil either. Just not our business to solve it. We should be solving our own problems.
