Last night I rewatched Planet Of The Apes (the original from 196 and it made me think of this thread.
Besides the basic realization that men destroyed themselves, the film is a brilliant allegory of what Religion just CLAIMS and of what Science at least TRIES to understand! Fantastic movie!

and i still have to see that original version
but i will watch it one day for sure!!

Yes i have seen both versions of the movie.

Forget about the recent one.

And I also think you know what an allegory is, don't you?
Those mutated apes symbolize men and what men do, only on the surface it's a story about mutated apes.
