Seriously. I'm not debatign wether he actually stands behind his convictions but do you think there's a little bit in the back of his mind wondering exactly what's waiting for him?

He's only human, but I think he has faith and he believes and has spent so much time believing and preaching what he believes and what others believe that they taught him to believe about his beliefs.
So yeah I think he's sure enough.

No matter what you believe everyone knows that they could be wrong, even if they won't admit it, so of course someone on the verge of death might be scared, perhaps curious as to what is beyond as they will finally be able to see it.

Why I said he's only human you know??
But what he has believed all these years and what he has been taught to believe about hi beliefs all his life sure would make him sure enough to believe that for his beliefs he's going to be saved.
Maybe (or probably) there's a tickle in the back of his neck making question what's true or not, but I believe that he believes that he's not uncomfortable or even afraid, because of his beliefs he believes you know?

I doubt he's scared. I've known many people who've been on the virge of death and their faith kept them very calm. The typical attitude I've seen is "I'm going home." Come to think of it, of everyone I've been around who has been terminal, none of them were afraid. (I've spent way too much time in hospitals and nursing homes.)

It doesn't matter if you're right or wrong at that point, only what you believe. I guess it's like Pascal's wager--you might as well have faith because if you have faith and you're right, you come out ahead. If you have faith and you're wrong, you haven't lost anything. If there's life after death, good for you. If there's not, it doesn't matter.

I hope so. He's been preaching for so long and so many wrong things to so many people, I hope he gets to see if there really is a god and if so, what he's really about. I just hope the Pope would come back and tell everyone how it was...
