lyrics. I used to write predominantly from songs and chord progressions that i;d already worked out but now I have a little green book i try to take everywhere that i can write random stuff down and most of the time, ill be able to work out a progression and melody in my head for it.

good if you're on a bus, got a few spare hours in uni, in the pub or generally anywhere that u dont have a guitar or piano handy.

So the question is; who's the first one to share something on here

Oh and btw, I write stuff (including some attempts at lyrics ), but it's
mostly in Dutch and writing in English mostly turns out either crap or cheesy

Have you read all my stuff then?

Actually, I do write more serious stuff every now and then when I feel inspired by someone or something that happens. I'm not going to post it right now, but have posted a few things in the past. If I'd be writing the crap I posted as the supposed lyrics for I Am I would've stopped writing a long time ago.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Me thinks you should apply to join The Music Forum by selecting the Musicians Option from the Usergroups menu at the top of the page. You will find lots of JoviTalkers work in there

Well, I would have told you earlier, but I havent been reading the forums as much as I should do, this week. You will like it in that forum. Its pretty quiet, but there is plenty of stuff to read through. Some of Adrians and Jim's work is terrific! Only downside is that you will have to wait until Mike is online to accept you into the forum. He is group moderator of that specific area of JT.

I write poems and always did. Dark, always. I used to write poems when i was little then i started to write again when i lost my bf in a car accident and after the accident of my sister. My mum found them the other day and i can't believe how dark it is. But apparently that's all i can write

I can relate. Sometimes I find old poems I wrote and think, "Gah, that's depressing!"

oh, I do that too. Not in a green book, but on hotel stationary and restaurant napkins. I only do it when I am in some sort of forced isolation, like out of town on business and am reduced to eating every single meal alone in a restaurant - brilliant thoughts run through your mind when you sit outside in a little San Franciscan neighborhood alleyway eating paella and drinking wine, observing the waiter from the restaurant next door as he shows an engagement ring to a co-worker and explains how he'll propose tonight .... Sigh.... That is when I always think I need to write a story and start on some sort of napkin. The next morning I am freaked out because, if I didn't know better, I'd think the writer was on acid.

never really considered any of this as writing
