that Bon Jovi will be in Japan on Sept. 11th playing a local club? Last year when the U. S. were attacked they were first in line to help raise money because "it really hit home" for them. I'm a little stunned. I guess I took Bounce to mean something else What do you guys think? TMA

Lets be honest. No intelligent person outside the US cares about what happend on September 11th. It will happen again; what has America done to prevent it from happening again? They haven't looked at the cause of it; they haven't changed their foreign policy. One example: a few months back, a deserted island belonging to Morocco, just off of its coast, was being occupied by members of the Spanish military. This caused a big dispute which was finally resolved through a plan that was being brokered by the US. What f**king business have the US got to do two civilised countries that can take care of their own business? That is one of the reasons people are so pissed at them, they throw their weight around everywhere, and interfere with things that they shouldn't.

Bon Jovi, especially Jon, used 9/11 as a way of becoming more popular. I've said before, Jon deserves an oscar for his performance in the video for America the beautiful.

So whats the problem? That they aren't playing a show here on Sept 11th? For what? The album isn't out in the US for another month. What do they need to be doing here on September 11th?

I know a number of us have strong views on Sept 11 & US policy - Pro US or otherwise. As well as other events happening throughout the world (the possibility of a war against Iraq for one). However lets keep the Political dicussions for other boards as it will inadvertantly turn nasty.

The original point concerned BJ - and whatever your views, BJ were (and should have been) affected and hence the question is should they be at home commemorating this? Perhaps, perhaps not - however I think (from what I have heard) they have done plenty to help the cause anyway, and so aren't being disrecptful.

Jon recently addressed this on one of the radio station interviews he did. I can't give you an exact quote, but he basically said that he didn't want to be part of the September 11 rememberance stuff because it could be seen as a publicity stunt.

As far as the assinine comment earlier about Jon's performance of America the Beautiful being Oscar-worthy, perhaps the person who has made it hasn't considered that the WTC was minutes from Jon's house... that he lost people he knew in the attack, that his children have friends who lost their parents. We saw the smoke on TV. He saw it floating over his house. He could SMELL it. We heard about victims. He KNEW them.

It's almost amusing that Jon has been singled out as the person using 9-11 to make himself more popular. I suppose Richie didn't play on America the Beautiful or take part in the Tribute to Heroes or film a spot for the Red Cross? Narrowing it down to Jon when Richie was there too just shows that *some* people on this board are very anti-Jon. Therefore, it's really hard to take anything said in that post seriously.

I didn't say it was just Jon, I said it was especially Jon. You don't hear the rest of the band talking about 9/11 in interviews, they just joined in with the fun to keep Jon happy. They sat quietly in the background.

I have to correct you here, cause what happened was just the OPPOSITE. Actually it was a SPANISH Island (wich is very near to Morocco) and was occupied by members of the Morocco Army, and the USA didn't make to much to solve the incident (althought the incident involved the NATO, cause Spain is a NATO member), the Spanish army did it, expelling the intruders without shooting any bullet.

Whe are you From? How could you get the information so distorted?

Hmmm... could that be because you don't really hear interviews with the rest of the band that often? Use a little common sense here. Jon is the one the media focuses on so, of course, you'll hear of his perspective on a given topic more often than you'll hear from the other guys. They did it to keep Jon happy, huh? I suppose you were a fly on the wall when Jon went into dictator mode and demanded the other guys perform at the Concert for New York. You don't think as natives of the area, they wanted to do something for their neighbors? Almost everyone with a heart in this country and around the world wanted to do SOMETHING to help whether it was donate money or give blood or make a trip to area to adopt animals left lost and homeless or just to say a prayer. The band could do something through music and they did it. They probably did a lot we'll never know about as well.

"The foreign ministers of Morocco and Spain have finalised a US-brokered resolution to their dispute over the Mediterranean island of Perejil."

"But some diplomats say that fact that the EU was snubbed in favour of US mediation revealed Brussels as powerless to enforce its will in difficult international matters. "

"US Secretary of State Colin Powell was quoted as saying last week that both countries were good friends to the US.

Morocco - a moderate Arab state - is viewed by Washington as an important ally in the fight against international terrorism. "

Maybe the BBC were wring and the US had nothing to do with it......
