Whether you're for or again or indifferent to gay marriage (for religious reasons or otherwise,) it is my opinion that any organized group that chooses to make public statements on what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home while simultaneously covering up and brushing under the rug the persistant child abuse and sexual assaults their own employees/representatives are inflicting upon those they are there to guide should rethink the hypocrisy of it all and their blame.

I couldn't agree more. But then I'm an ex-catholic. I married someone from a different church and I am still not considered married by the catholic church. Somehow after 3 kids and 35 years of marriage it's irrelevent what they think.

ahh **** them all thats what i say.

there was actually a priest across the road from me that got caught having sex with a guy in the chapel. i know alot of catholics and some who went to that chapel said they were all told to pray for him n stuff by the new priest i mean come on if a minister or something got caught bending some girl over the pews they'd be kicked right out of the church but the catholic church seems to have a bad habit of just moving people from one place to another and that includes all the filthy child rapist bastards.

Well, my only personal experience with the catholic church was not a positive one. My ex-husband was living with a woman who had an illegitimate child by another man. He and his live in wanted to get married in the catholic church, so he wanted me to cooperate with him in getting an annulment. I refused. (I am protestant btw)

It's ok for him to be living in sin with a woman and her out of wedlock child, but the church is dictating to a person of another faith what they should do. Oh yes, and the annulment was only going to cost $750.

They ended up getting married in a non-denominational church and he's never spoken to me since. LOL!

I find it hard to believe how the Christian Church in general can expect to encourage acceptance and what are seen as traditional "Christian" values (love your neighbour etc) when large areas of these denominations refuse to reinterpret the Bible's writing with regard to homesexauls. They (e.g. the Church of England) are refusing to take into account the context in which the Bible was written.

I'm sure God does, it gets to be a problem when Man's interpretation comes into play.

i heard on a tv show that 50% of priests are gay. lots of gay men who dont want to come out become priests so ppl will think the reson theyre not married to a woman is cos of the vow of chastity.
the bible is completely out of date and the only reason ppl follow the rules in it is cos theyre scared god will get them for it, and also cos thats how they were brought up. if i wrote a book of rules right now, no one would be scared of breaking my rules. anyway the rules in the bible are stupid, like thomas anderson said. apart from a few sensible rules like "dont kill", "dont steal", "be peaceful", etc, the majority of bible rules suck.
also most rules in the bible contradict each other. for example the bible says gay men must be executed, but then in the 10 commandments it says "thou shalt not kill". so, does that mean the christians can kill gays or not?

yeah... isnt it funny that god is supposed to be good and peaceful and loving etc, and then all these wars happen cos of him, and these gay ppl cant become bishops cos of him? and also if god really does love everyone then why does he send sinners to hell?
see, that proves the contradictions!

something like that happened near me too, it was in the local paper, that for years this priest got away with molesting and abusing kids and the church knew all about it but instead of doing something about him or handing him over to the police, they just moved him around a bit and covered it up. it was only about 20 years after he started that something really bad happened, i think he raped a disabled boy or something like that, that what happened wasnt covered up any more and he finally got taken to court. if he had been in any other institution it probably would have been sorted out years ago. the church people are sort of "immune".

anyway this is a very interesting topic to debate. personally i think they should allow the openly gay bishops. i reckon theyve had gay bishops before, but they just kept it secret.

Default jim bon jovi loves gay sex-yes

where the hell does he get his statistics from? yes, a minority of religous people will be gay because to confront and surpress their emotions and sexuality they will do so in order to gain sexual satsifaction.it then takes time to portray alleged deviants as not subnormal but normal- that has happened through the life cycle of humanity-science has proved that people who are gay are born with this gene-so accept it

where religious assholes are concerned is that they think they can religion can control the people- yet
jim bon jovi scottish protestanism has no experiance of catholicsm yet he portrays himself judge and jury of scottish christianitys he quotes he is non sectarian yet he is rangers fc daft (history never signed roman catholics for over 100 years- he complains about catholics yet guy is a bigot- i am church of Scotland-i married a catholic in church and my sons were catholic yet he alleges he goes to church yet I hear him going anti this anti that- what is his problem?, why is he so anti catholic, not muslim, not jewish etc-the more i review his nonsense the more i realise he is a halfwit
-as a christian- muslims are the enemy not so called old christians- hell no protestants existed before the 15th century= i was in barcelona last week -a great city and Edinburgh today would have had the same paintings and icons that stood in the spanish cathedral today- as a scottish national i despair of people like jim bon jovi who still cling to empire like aspirations. eg a protestanism nation forget the union jack, ali, leon and muhammed are all friends-christianity is friendship-**** the monarchy-let the people rule

i never understand why man constantly muddies the water given to us, and then dictates it to be gods doing...
