It is horrible what he has done to the childeren, and the two who got out alive, I think there life will never be the same again, I think it must be frustrated to see that guy alive......and I hope they will give him a good punishement

He deserves the same treatment as his victims...: put him in a freezer and bury him alive! That man is not human (and neither are the other suspects!)

Yeah it is probably ... Laetitia keeps herself a bit at the background, it isnt very known how she is doing. Sabine always was a bit too ... now the trial started she gave a long interview to tv-station. Was weird to see. I still see the images of the girls with the police-man coming out of the house, in the car, hugging, ... Now Sabine is a 18-year old ... she's a very pretty young girl and says she feels very good, has a lot of friends ... she doestn feel too unhappy, more mad about what happened ... She IS going to the trial as she wants to look him in the eyes and tell : you didnt get me down ... I think she is so brave ... I just hope she doesnt only think she feels good and can handle it but that she actually can ...

incredible as it seems (and i'm a paramilitry policemen) the investigation into this series of abductions has been revealed by the british media as the worst case of police incompetence in Europe in the last ten years. This case is tragic, however the worse case I think is the french police force who investigated the death of a britih schoolgirl in France in 1996, inspector clouseu springs to mind exceot it ain't funny.

The french police who investigated the case were classed as absolutley pathetic by the UK detectives who handled the British side of the investigation. I read their reports and having considered the eveidence collected by the French, you would seriously think the french policemen involved in the case should have been charged with gross negliction of duty and sacked.
it seems in Belgium, that a simiilar trait is emerging. apparently the belgians refuse to believe that there is widespread paedophilism within the upper ranks of their privileged society which is the only reason why this chap was not arrested sooner. Expect judges, senior politicians and Belgiums crem de la creme to be indicted once this paedophile has been found guilty and jailed.

It's the same the whole world over, if you are a foreigner, the national policef orce do not wabt to know.
IF a spaniard or frenchman swore at me during a anti nuclear protest, I WOULD TELL THEM TO CALM DOWN, if they threw things at me I'd hit them over the head with ny baton.

That's a very positive attitude, and I admire her for that. Her real triumph lies in not letting what happened put her down. I wish she could actually tell him that!

so I followed the things on the news and i was very shocked ... I remember when it all came out I was very shocked as a kid ... Now many years past and it all calmed down a bit but I must admit the trial is affecting me more then i thought it would ... We now know more details of how the poor girls died ... Melissa and Julie died as they didnt get any food or drinks anymore ... i cant imagine !!!!!!!!! Ann and eefje were barried alive !!!!! How can anyone do that????????????????????

Laetitia (one of the 2 girls that was saved !) wouldnt go to the trial but she did the last days ... yesterday she run away as she couldnt hear the things anymore !!

I saw something about it on the tv... I think they kids are really brave, and I really hope he is gonne be locked up forever!
I really understand Sabine and the other one, they wanna win from him, let him see he didn´t won, and that they are ok.

Sometimes I wonder if it is good to make the details public... of course, people must know what happened, but the details are so shocking and I can imagine that it is very very hard for the parents and family and friends of the victims that everyone now knows exactly what happened to their kids. It is all very confronting.

It`s so shocking to see that guy and know what he did.
Even when they lock him in forever is not enough punisment for him.
Maybe they should let him alone in prison with a lot of guys.........no guards around...no one can hear him........
