k i can handle that As long as the right wing are in then it's not a problem.

sayign that. the damn scottish socialists are starting to gain some popularity cos the kind of people they appeal too are usually too stupid or lazy to actually check out or know if their policies are bullshit or not.

I think most parties will do exactly the same things when they're in power and criticise anything the governing party does when they're in the opposition. No matter what their ideology is.

True to an extent but whereas most parties like to stretch the truth a little the Scottish Socialist party's policies border on the idiotic.

Raise minimum wage to Ģ7'50 an hour. That's great news but if they'd thought a bit more about it, higher wage rises mean higher costs for employers who will just start laying people off. good for some who keep their jobs, bad for those that lose them.

Hmmm that actually sounds quite alot like how socialism spans out in the long run anyways.

What about taxing the evil quango's and companies lots? yeah that's a great ide4a, they're just run by fat cats who don't need the money anyways. But wait a minute... you mean these companies don't want to be taxed a stupid amount and have decided to move over seas? oh no!!!! more job loses and even less investment.

But I'm sure that would somehow be the fault of Capitalism and right wing governments previous work....

Okay, so it seems official now - the winning party is the Socialist one, which hasn't been in power for eight years now. They have a new leader and all.

I wonder if they'll carry out all the wonderful things thay have promised during the campaign. If so, let me tell you we'll be living in the best country in the world in four years time :P If not, we'll be living in the same old country with the same old problems- which is what I expect.

At any rate, they'll have to reach some agreements with some other parties if they want to get things done as their results don't enable them to have the majority in Parliament.

So that's it. They have a huge problem to start with, which is how we're going to face the attacks and how we're going to try and avoid some other attacks.

Of course I still think what I said above. Whoever wins will be doing the same things.

Socialist won.

I was with the communist of my party (working -btw...they gave me alcohol :P ) and Iīm glad to say that communist party has been almost destroyed

Btw, its very sad that the terrorist has got their objective. Aznarīs succesor lost. Im not pro-socialist or pro-conservatives, but Iīm not glad that my country change their vote because there were an attack.

And socialist party will have to govern with nacionalists. difficult times are coming Iīm not glad, not sad. Only...a bit scared.

Spain has given the terrorists just what they wanted; they have allowed these terrorists to control the election. What would be even sadder is if people truly believe that this will make them "safe" by appeasing the terrorists. Spain has just made itself very vulnerable to further attacks. If people are angry over terrorism, why vote out the government trying to fight it?

Spain gave the terrorists what they wanted the day they joined the US in the war in Iraq, against the people's will, not in yesterday's elections.
The Spanish are not stupid, they do not and will not feel safer now that the government is changing sides. All they want is a government that tells them the truth and not one that starts making political plans over outrageous bombings 10 minutes after 200 people have been killed and 1500 injured, as Aznar's gov did.

An article here in Spain:

The Spanish society is free of choosing the government that considers more opportune, but for that reason they don't stop to be responsible for its acts. The punishment inflicted to the Popular Party and the victory of the socialist is an unquestionable success of the terrorist tactics. We have sent a clear message as much to ETA as Al-Qaeda: the terrorism works. The fear blinds and the citizens look for an emergency exit although it only exists in its imagination. ETA has checked that its regional pact in Catalonia has completed its objectives. The islamistas have been able to verify that the Spaniards are willing to bend to part of their demands with such of avoiding future blows. Unwittingly, the Spanish citizens have given in these elections an important back to the strategies of the terror.
