iditiotically stupid idea.

i was surprised that the pubs were chuckign people out at 11 even on the weekends when iw as down london there because we're used to pubs opening till midnight or 1 and clubs being open till 3 but I think that's a decent licence.

half the time people leaving the pub at 12 are rattled and everyone is wrecked come 3 o clock up the town. opening later is just stupid because there's people who don't know when to stop and that includes myself alot of the time.

people are just going to drink until the bouncers toss them out. i'm glad my pub will be havign none of this carry on

Went out last night to celebrate the new rules I think its a good idea, its a long term plan to hopefully change the drinking culture in this country. Its gonna be nice to go out and not have to go pay in at a club to be able to drink for longer

I'm sure a wave of drunkeness shall seize your country momentarily. Families will be destroyed as the adult members spend all their money on alcohol, the rate of car-accidents will quadruple, and morality will fall to an all-time low. The only logical course of action is to completely eliminate the demon Rum from you country altogether! Never mind how that worked for us.

Adrian

PS Just kidding

So, because of some idiots that cannot control how much to drink, the rest (and probably majority) of the normal (and mature) population has to stop drinking at 11pm??

Get rid of the drunks - no matter what time in the evening and let the normal people carry on............

it'll just encourage everyone except a minority to drink more.

we have a much different attitude here than the US towards drinking.

in scotland we had longer licensing than england and the difference even in a relatively small georgaphical area is staggering.

per example' my brother sometimes organises scottish tours for a band from england we know and as can be expected, there's alot of drinking done but one time one of them commented on not only how much, but how fast we all drink here at all. He pointed out that once a drinks done we're right back upto the bar without thinking about it whereas down there they wait a while, it's just the way people drink and giving them more time to drink is stupid. people dont go dancing and say, ive had enough i better go home, they wait till they get chucked out either at the end of the night or by a bouncer, if you let them in there all night, they'll be there till they get tossed out.

i'm far to cynical about people in general and think we need society as a whole to keep them in check now and again.

Same here. Back in the good old days, it would have been a crime to go out to a club before 10!!
