Not entirely true but I know what you mean. I guess what the problem is, for me anyway, is that the English team is so unbelieveably arrogant.. already they are acting as if they are gods and the media is also very much to blame too.. I guess every country is to a certain extent but I think the English team just takes the biscuit... sorry!

Typical English fan, never short of prise for there own team till they bit a dust.

I actually support English fan, but at the begining i said i'm going to support Germany and Portugal for this tournment. And since they are aganist portugal, i'm supporting them. But as i said, i really wanna see good game and want to win who play better.

Not really true - I can't see that, sorry. What arrogance have the English shown so far that makes them stand out from anybody-else? They've worked hard and thoroughly deserve to go all the way if they carry on from strength to strength as they have been! IMO, the team most guilty of arrogance and complacency is the Spanish! Thinking that all they needed was a draw and playing for one, they deserved to go crashing out!

The only hype generated over England is what the media create and I don't think this reflects general opinion. There is a level of expectancy now from the team and the English public but no more than that of Holland, Portugal or any other team in the tournament. Personally I can see the Czechs taking it but still believe England can and will be capable if they play with the potential they have and no-one in their right minds, no matter how much they deplore the English, can honestly say otherwise!

Oh, and 3-0 England on Thursday night!!

Someone should also tell Deco that the game of football requires one to stay on one's feet rather than spend 80% of a game on the turf! Diving scum!

Got a feeling they'll beat us. We really are not that good, defending set pieces is our forte

I'd say our team have so far come across as very humble... After the France game a few said they deserved to win, which under the circumstance can not be seen as arrogance. And we certainly didn't play that game arrogantly.

I was laughing yesterday because ever time there's an interview with Rooney it sounds like hes haveing a conversation with his p.e. teacher! Saying 'yeah I had a pretty good game, scored a couple of pretty good goals'. Nothing arrogant about that at all. It seems like he's having a good laugh and just enjoying the fact that he's pretty much the star player so far!

After the Swiss game ALL the players said it was a good win, but they were concentrating on the next game, and said nothing about getting through at that stage.

True fans will always believe their team can win I think. Don't care what it says on paper, what you might say out loud about your chances, if you love your team then you think they're going to win in your heart whoever you're playing. I don't think England could come up against anybody who I don't think we could beat, even if we by far the weaker team. That's not arrogance that's being a fan. I think you've got to judge the arrogance of a team 100% on how the team itself behaves.

Yeah I know what you mean about our press being arrogant, (ie hailing Rooney as the new Pele or Maradonna) but as an England fan I never take anything for granted. I've seen us go out at the final stages in 90, 96, 98 and 02, so if anything I try not to get carried away. I agree with Mike about the England team seeming humble too, unlike the French who were gloating about their win last week against us. At then end of the day, people just don't like the English team, we dont get any support from Eire, Wales or Scotland even though we support their teams in big matches.

I take everything back... I think England has the best team, I hope they win. Their players are the best and if they don't win football is pointless, but then again how can they not win?? As they are perfect. Arrogant? No way, they are just who they are.. perfect..

P.S. I haven't gone crazy, just been bribed into supporting England by a certain person who shall remain anonymous *cough* Carli *cough*
