To put into context the ashes defeat... Australia are the best. They're in a league of their own at the moment, so to be beeten by Austraila is by no means a disgraseful thing. I'd say over the past two years England have proven themselves to be a good team, and have won a few series.

In terms of football, in qualifying England looked very strong (cast your minde back to Munich.5-1). They played reasonably poorly in the world cup, but this could I think be partly credited to the fact that Beckham and Butt were unfit, and both played pretty badly. Nevil wasn't there. Hargreves got himself injured early on also.

The back four for England looked increadibly strong, and deserved the clean sheet against Argentena.

As a team they didn't play well sure, but then neither did Arentena, France, Holland didn't even qualify! These teams are still good, probably still some of the best, they just had a bad run of games. England could be very good, and on paper are an extremely strong team, who if they play well together, and get their tactics right, coulod be a very good side.

I know you didn't watch the Brazil game, but I don't think there was an English fan around who didn't think, even in the back of their minde, that England were going to win. Plus, if England had beeten Brazil they would have played the strongest team left in the competition, so would have stood a very good chance in the semi's and final.

I've got to say I don't know exactly what billiards are.... But I do know that snooker is played on a billiards table

Again, I'd like to reiterate my pointless fact that snooker is played on a billiards table. I get the feeling it's quite similar though, in that it's on the same table, and the aim of the game is to pot balls!

Maybe there are more drunks playing snooker. I wouldn't know, as I'm not a larger lout myself..... I'm basically going of the fact that every pub I've been in has had either a pool table, or a darts board. I've never seen a snooker table in a pub before!

snooker tables are smaller than billiard ones and the balls are different

Goose, you took the words right out of my mouth!

Also, pool/snooker/billiard/green felt-with-six-pockets-in-it tables come in all different sizes anyway, you can play any of thise games on the ONE table.
