Oh yes, it happened to me a few times - it's quite scary. I suddenly woke up thinking it was all real....it's such a strange sensation!!

cry and scream yeah it's awful... and it happens to me also to realise that i'm dreaming and wanting to wake up and not being able, its really strange too! but my nightmares always end up being the same.. a plane crash over my friends house, my own burning down or a tsunami lol weird

Can't say I've ever had any that felt real and then made me cry, but I've had ones that felt real so much so that I can remember them years later almost as memories as if of real events. I rarely remember my dreams though, but when I do they tend to be very silly

I've had dreams that felt real many, many times. Some have made me cry, some have made me laugh, and some had just made me not want to wake up because the dream was so much better than real life. I remember one when I was about 16 that was so real and so upsetting that I woke up crying my eyes out and had to convince myself to not go wake up my mother to find out if what I had been dreaming was real or not. It didn't have any of that dream like quality that made it clear that it was a dream. I have very vivid dreams and have had dreams in color, black and white, some that were like animated movies, and even a couple in Spanish! It's one of those oddities of the mind that I can have a dream in which I can remember all the Spanish I learned and speak it just fine in the dream but can't remember much at all when I wake up. It's interesting to me to think that it's all locked up there in my brain somewhere. I think dreams are quite fascinating.

i always seem to dream more often when i'm sleepign in a different bed from my own or going through a stressful period.

ive been dreaming alot recently because i've got exams coming up which usually happens.

i think they're a sort of counter balance to relieve subconscious stress because i don't get stressed on any great conscious level when i know i really should (eg me sitting wasting time on here when ive not looked at a note for an exam i have on wednesday)

the other night i had one where i fell off of a massive tree and it actually felt like i was falling but i didn't wake up before i hit the ground. i actually landed on a corrugared iron roof shed and walked away thinking: wow that was quite a cool dent i put in that.

1. i think my brain was just needing to release some stress hormones or whatever it does by making me think i was falling 100 feet

2. i suppose that puts to bed th emyth that if you hit the ground while falling in a dream your body will think you're dead and you won't wake up.
