I'm really too sick to go into details, but I believe in the Trinity.

I also think much of religion is a matter of convenience and that the only example to follow is that of Jesus, not of any man--Pope, priest, pastor, Rabbi... etc. I'm not really a "religious" person.

I believe in personal respsonsibility. Each one of us is accountable for our own actions and blaming a church or religion or other people for our actions is just a way of scapegoating.

I believe in logic. What is is and teachings and actions that conflict can not be excused for the sake of whatever works for you that day.

I believe that free will and determinism can be reconciled and both play a part in the grand scheme of life.

I also believe Pascal had a good point.

Becky

I see that as the miracle of nature, nothing more nothing less. I do believe that nature is part of the 'higher power' I believe in.

Yes, I agree with this a lot. I do believe that before god we are no different and equally worthy (not more worthy) as that butterfly. If anything, we might be a bit less worthy given the way we treat each other and our fellow creatures. Why would god look more favorable on us, given the way we act towards each other and mother nature in general? Really, I don't think we are much on 'god's' mind at all... we just are, like the hills and the lakes and the butterflies, just a bit more evil

I beleive in Bible And for me God created world and evaulation started from there, i don't really beleive that the theory of ape to man and all coz that coz or else why we are still having monkeys? and why there is no evulation happening with any other animals..?. I also beleieve that nature is nothing but God...and man can never overcome nature...

My faith is Jesus christ, all though i'm not really big church guy, all though i go to church but not always the case and beleieve going to church or following chruch rules are not only find a God.... My faith is very personal and i beleive personal prayer is best way to show my faith and totally beleive in one on one communicating with God... Although my faith keep on varing, i try to read Bible and pray every night and try to adopt some of the preaching of Jesus and very much beleive in forgive and forget thing and also not beleive in taking revange for any reason....

That is because not everything evolves. For example crocodiles and sharks haven't evolved much for millions of years because they haven't needed to. In some parts of the world we didn't need to evolve and hence there are still many different types of monkey everywhere, just as there are many types of fish or bird.

Personally I am with Ice and Kathleen on this, I believe in science because it is the most logical explanation for everything, rather than some mystical being suddenly creating everything and then leaving, with no trace, which is obviously the only explanation they could think when writing the bible, as then they didn't have science as we do today.

I don't believe that there is some higher power at work that created us, I believe that we are just here through a series of co-incidence. Life somehow evolved to the point it is today, the patterns and butterfly things people have referred to are just chaotic, there is no set pattern, no-one sat down and drew everything and planned everything, that would be pretty boring for us, by that logic we're just puppets in someones sick game.

There is a shot at the end of Men In Black that I love, the camera slowly flies out of the atmosphere, picking up speed, it goes past the planets, out of the galaxy, and then we see that we are trapped within a marble that is being played with by some strange alien.

But the mistery behind it is so cool.
Sometimes is more intruiging to believe than it is to try to find an explanation for everything, if we had them then I would consider that boring.

I believe in God but not in a Biblical way, I just know that we are all on a journey and I have never touched the steering wheel.

Like Adrian, I find it kind of hard to describe what I believe it.

I was baptized into the Catholic church, received the sacraments of communion, confession and confirmation, went to Catholic schools from JK to OAC. When I was younger, my mom would take my brothers and I to church every week. Then I started working weekends When I'm home, I do try to attend mass. But sometimes I can't be bothered. In addition, my dad isn't Catholic and I think that this has influenced my beliefs as I get older.

I believe in God and that his Son died so we could enter heaven. As trivial as it sounds, I like believing that there is something waiting for me once I die. I try to not explicitly reject the words of Christ.

Confession is supposed to be the cleansing of your soul, the clearing of your conscious. I haven't been to confession in years. I don't believe that telling my "sins" to a priest is going to make me feel better. Other people, who go to confession regularly, say I should feel guilty about this, but I don't.

There are a few issues that I don't agree with the Catholic Church's stance on. First is same sex marriage and I hope I don't offend anyone You always hear stories in the news about a gay couple together for years, when one dies. The surviving partner gets nothing. How is that fair? If same sex couples will get the same legal benefits as straight couples, they should be allowed to marry. Furthermore, the issue of homosexuality makes me wonder. In the Catholic Church it is ok for a person to be a homosexual...they just are not allowed to be a practising homosexual. Huh? Birth control, be it condoms or the Pill, is another prickly subject. The Church does not advocate pre-martial sex, but that doesn't mean people aren't doing it. Personally, if I'm in a sexual relationship with someone, I'm going to protect myself. There is just too many diseases out there.

I think this is a great point, Becky, and I totally agree with you.

I didn't respond before because I couldn't find the exact words to describe how I feel and what faith is for me but I can relate with everything Miracle has written before.

When I was at school and had Religion classes we used to read and discuss parts of the Bible but nowdays I can't barely remember it and I'm not sure whether to believe everything which is written there. I regret not having paid much attention though. I also used to attend mass every Sunday but stop going a long time before and don't feel going these days. I may be wrong though. I believe in God, probably in my own way.
