Good topic, Iīve really enjoyed reading it so far. I personally go with Ice, Kathleen and Mr. Anderson...I donīt believe in God as it is but in evolution. Though sometimes, I must admit, I wish I had something to believe in...and by this I mean a higher power, but there isnīt one.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Gen. 1:1)

I believe that everything including the world and all its creatures were made by God. "The heavens and the earth" are what I believe to be the universe and the earth. I also believe that evolution takes place through Him. He is the creator of everything, so therefore I believe that evolution was also created by Him so that we are able to survive in the ever changing world.

I do not agree with the big bang theory. Everything on earth is so fine-tuned and able to support the existence of life. I don't see how all this can be created by a chance cosmic explosion.

"For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible..." (Col. 1:16)
The invisible I believe to be things like atoms and forces that we cannot see.

God is described in the Bible as the "Alpha and the Omega" which means the first and the last. He was here first before the universe and even before time began. He is able to create all this because He is not confined by time like we are.

I believe that the Bible is like a history book that also foretells the future. I believe that the Bible is the word of God and it was written under the inspiration of God. God guided the people as to what to write.

I believe that Jesus is the son of God and the Messiah. I believe God sent Jesus to die for our sins so that we are able to live with Him in eternity. I also believe that Jesus physically rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and is still living there. I believe He will one day return to earth to rule then He will take the believers into heaven to live for eternity. I believe that Jesus was who He said He was.

I believe that a person receives eternal life from faith and love of God. A person is saved through faith and love for Christ alone.

I am a Protestant and don't agree with a lot of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. I also don't agree with the role of the Pope and the cardinals. I believe that one is saved through faith and not through things like fulfilling the 7 sacraments and confessing to a priest or praying to the Saints or the Virgin Mary. I believe that people should be confessing to God and Christ Himself because He is the only way to be saved. No human should assume the role of God or even a God-like role. People should interpret the Bible for themselves, not having it interpreted for them by others. I think the Bible was written so that each individual person can make their own conclusions. I also don't think of contraception as a sin, I don't see that anywhere in the Bible.

Where do I get all this from?? This is my interpretation of the Bible and I am not asking anyone to convert, I am just sharing what I believe and why. I do have doubts about certain things, but I feel that I can only go forward. We will never be able to know and understand everything about us and our universe, even with science and technology. Who actually knows the whole truth? I sure don't, but this is what I am most sure of and what I most strongly believe. In a way, it gives me hope and a sense of purpose because I was created by something that loves me and wants me to live happily in eternity, instead of just being created for no reason at all. I have also read that people have died standing up for this faith by not denying Jesus as the Messiah and son of God. This level of faith has really moved me. There is nothing to lose if I believe and it ends up not being the truth. There is way more to lose if I don't believe and it ends up being the truth. Why would I want to pass up eternal life in heaven?
