Default Fed Up

I am trying to move house, we have had 2 houses go wrong for one reason or another so we kept looking and found the perfect house it was big ,close to work ,close to Ross's school there was a kebeb shop near by a pub just up the road. What more could i ask for so 2 weeks in i've got all the seaches done spent £500 on this house (spent £1500 altogether on the other houses) and then i get a phone call from the estate agent that the owners father has come home from a 6 week holiday and said to her why are you selling your house so cheap? So now the house has been withdrawn from the market and been remarketed at £20000 more The estate agent told them NOWAY will you get this sort of money for this house and they should take our money. But NO they know best , so i lose out AGAIN! I'm so fed up!!!!!!

ERk! Don't you get your money back? I mean if they are changing their price, that is not your fault? We just bought a house ourself, so I understand how frustrating it could be. I don't understand how they could just up the price though. Didn't they have to sign a contract or something?

Unfortuantly the law here says that you can do that up untill contracts are signed, and of course you have to get the searches done first

It's disgusting - I'm so sorry for you Russ. I know about this thing (the money you give before etc ...) but are you sure there's nothing to do ? you should go an see again this agent, because the money you've lost it's for the agency ! so maybe if he can find another house for you, you won't have to paye again this commission .....

Well that is just dumb. Here once you go into "attorney review" meaning they accept your bid, people can still outbid you. Usually attorney review lasts for a few days. But once you go into contract, then you have the searches done and nobody can outbid you. The house is as good as yours and if the people do back out, they have to refund the money you put out.
