I actually can't listen to my personal CD player anymore, because compared to my iPod, it's far too quiet.....

Thats another valid point Paul. Ipods are great for their fantastic sound output, even though theyre mp3's, the sound quality appears to be excellent (depending on which bit-rate they are, of course) and they're rather loud too! The only time I have them on 'full-blast' is when im on public transport. General listening at home, is very loud and they have to be tourned down.

Dont get an ipod, get a Creative Zen.

Cheaper for bigger space and you can touch it without it falling to pieces.
My housemate got an Ipod mini for about £140, the battery lasts 12 hours. My Zen touch cost me the same for 2 gig and it lasts 24 hours!
Apple gayness!

I have a Rio Karma - it plays flac files. I don't have to decode my downloads - I just load 'em up and go. It saves me a lot of time. I love it - and the sound might be a bit better than an iPod. I still have my old 5 gig iPod but it doesn't get much use anymore.

Sounds good, although obvious drawback being the size of flac files though

As long as you have a home computer, tis no trouble in the slightest. My computer at home is the slowest in the world and it takes about 15 mins to copy an entire CD. My personal computer takes around 5 minutes
