If anything "extra-friendship" were ever to happen, friendship is a stage it would have to go through first.

which is how it is supposed to be

Well, if someone who'd only seen me for about 22 hours total, two and a half/three months ago came looking for me at my place of employment and asked if I wanted to hang out...I'd be a little weirded out.

why would that weird you out? Wouldn't you be rather flattered? Someone actually took the time and looked you up based on the fact that you seemed nice? I don't think it is weird at all - don't sweat it.

I mean...what do I say? Suppose all this comes about, then what? Try and find a time when she's on break and order something to drink, talk about what's happened in the last quarter year?

Yes

It's that easy
Don't order when she is on a break cause then she won't be serving you
If she seems friendly and open, ask her if she wanted to go to the movies sometimes or whatever people your age do

Ask what day would be best, get her number and make sure you call her.
I know it's awkward and you know what? It always is. I still get flustered and think and re-think every sentence a hundred times, but if you don't do it, you'll be sitting at home alone every single night for the rest of your life. Don't worry too much. You are good with words, you are cute and she obviously likes you as she tried to include you in stuff, there's nothing to lose. Even IF she doesn't want to 'do' stuff with you, believe me, she'll still be totally flattered. Not the worst thing to happen.
Go for it!!
