Where are yoou going to watch fireworks this saturday?i'm going to Santapod raceway to watch some top fuel dragstars and then at the end theres an amazing display of fireworks

but do you think that fireworks should be banned from being sold in shops, as kids dont take any notice of warning signs

i think they should be banned from shops, only sold via trade and in bulk

Which 13/14 year old is gonna have enough cash to do that, plus, it should be like a cash n carry whereby you have to register a charity or business number.

I am working on one of the displays in Newcastle, you probably have seen displays co-ordinated to music, well, thats my job this year, to make sure the music is times right, and its a right B*****d!!!!!

We always have a big organised display on the beach. I think they should all be organised displays.

I put on a fireworks display every 4th of July with my friends. Its no big deal. We're always very responsible around them. Adults watch and supervise. Its like a big neighborhood party. No one has ever gotten hurt, except for 2 years ago, when I burned myself with a match.

I don't think fireworks shouldn't be sold. That's taking away from millions of other people, simply because of the stupidity of another group of people. If store owners just enforced the laws about not selling to people under 21, this would all be resolved without having to take a fun activity away from many, many people. As for only selling in bulk, or to licensed users, that cuts out thousands of people. Me, my parents, and my friends always buy in small quantities, as we don't have the money to buy the huge packages. Licensing users, will cut out even more people. Wouldn't it be better instead of creating all these new laws, rules, and regulations, if we just enforced the ones we already have, that have worked quite well for decades?

Adrian

thing is... in the UK with bonfire night and all... its the shops who tend to be irresponsible.. there isnt enough regulating going on to ensure that what is being sold is safe....and that people are going to use it responsibly.

the other major problem over here, and this is mainly due to sales to kids is that of them being set off up to a month in advance of the night itself because shops start to stock them so early.
i have to say that i have been responsible in the past for setting fireworks off on non bonfire night... however, always on my birthday which is 5 days later... ive occasionally saved a few AND THEN set them off... but thats different. plus we've always been responsible. the worst thing that happened was that we blew a bit of a hole in the back garden cause on of the air bombs became a ground bomb....

but yeah i guess i have to kind of agree in a way...
at least for stricter regulations anyhow...
