It does count, any world cup win goes down in history. When Finland won the Ice Hockey world cup, they were the best team in the world in 95 and that wont be forgotton either.

Of course we all still care! I'm sure most english fans have seen that game reguardless of wether they were alive at the time or not. Not only did we win the most important cup there is to win, we did it against our biggest rivals! You can't forget somethign as sweet as that!

Anybody who watched that game and said England deserved to loose doesn't know very much about football in my book. Ultimately France were extremely lucky (even tho they took their chances very well). We missed a pen, they should have had a player sent off (which the player himself owned up to), we held them for 90 mins without looking that threatened, then 2 mistakes which cost us. It wasn't as if we were hanging on for dear life and their goals just happened to come at the end, we were in controle.

I do agree though with Ice.. it happened years ago, the team should try and concentrate on winning it again instead of looking back to what was.
