people buy that kinda stuff for various reasons. i mean its not much different from people collecting stuff from vietnam or whatever.

i hate nazi's and pretty much everythign they stand for but it doesn't mean i get offended when i see a flag weith a swastika on it or anything like that.

the law hasn't yet been implemented in France with regards to the banning of headscarves. it;s actually banning all religious symbols in schools ie wearing crosses, skullcaps, turbans etc... it just seems the sikh's r the biggest protestors of it.

sayign that. coming from a country where u can have schools that won't let u in unless ur a catholic i think its a good idea. my primary was right next to a R.C. school like RIGHT next to it and we all used to fight like it was nobodies business for no other reason than they were catholics.

the sooner we get rid of religious bullshit and anything that breeds hostility and tension in schools the better.

The stupid thing about it is that there is no need for it because french public schools have been banning religious signs as a tradition since the church and the state separated, more then a century ago.
When I was a kid, no one was allowed to wear scarves or crosses or anything, and it never was a big deal, I don't even recall talking about it with friends or teachers, it's just how it was. And it never stopped anyone from having any kind of faith outside of school.
In recent years, there have been some 1300 cases of pupils that wouldn't take their signs off, most of them were dealt through discussion and in the end only 4 were expelled for a few days.
With the law now the government has to set the limits and that's hard to do and they've made fools of themselves in recent days.
