It went over quite well to be honest.

Wayne our keyboardist has the cuban intro sample as a pad on his board and people were already dancing along to that before we'd even kicked off. It was one that I wasn't too keen on playing as it has a tendency to either go really well or fall down in key areas such as the pause after the solo, as it hasn't been in our set as long as some of the other tracks but (luckily) it went well on the night and I reckon we'll probably trade it in and out of the set from gig to gig with something like 'Bounce' or 'I Believe' in future.

Well, sounds good that it went over well. Maybe in the future, you could put one of the newer songs in your setlist to replace it. Perhaps you could do MAM in the future. That would be a nice song to play at a club. Sounds like the rest of your show went over well.

What instrument do you play? Or are you the frontman?

That was one great pair of jeans

I just read your band's site - and your profile. I realized that I have a husband that suffers from GAS too It's a better bad habit than some though.

I didn't know you were a geologist though - that's cool. I do a lot of geological engineering (when I have to).

i dont know many musicians except my bass player who don't suffer from gas. ive curbed mine recently but im slowly convincing myself to either A: look for a ric 330 or b: build my own guitar over the summer.

the current missus hasn't experienced this yet but im sure she'll understand

In the first pic, where I'm wearing the sunglasses, it was our opening track and I could barely see anything - which is why after RYH, I took em off and left em on the amp. I know what you mean about guitarists who just watch their fretboard and believe me my eyes weren't glued to it all night.

The bottom pic was taken during Always and the guitar doesn't come in till the second verse so I was killing time sorting my fx - I wasn't actually playing. There was actually supposed to be a guitar change to the Les Paul in that interval but I lent it to a guy in one of the support acts as he broke a string on their first song and he needed it in a different tuning. I couldn't be arsed putting it back so I just kept the paisley strat all night.

Wayne had to set up just to my right off stage cos there wasn't enough room. Nobody thinks about the keyboardists these days! It made on-stage communication interesting anyway!

The Hyde Park jeans were very cool!

GAS is brilliant and a common guitarist 'disorder', although I don't think my fiance approves too much!

Geology was my first subject as an undergrad and I'm just starting my four month long summer dissertation in Geotechnical Engineering at postgrad MSc level. Then it's out into the big bad world of work for good - I've had enough of education anyways!
