I really don't mind it. And I love having the extra hour today

Besides, I'd much rather have daylight when I leave in the mornings than leave when it's still dark. So all in all I think I like it better this way

Yes, that is one of the few good things. I hate leaving when it is still dark outside! I suppose winter is okay in small doses. I can take a month of it perhaps. :P

Oh absolutely. I hate snow, winter coats, boots, cleaning the cars, shoveling, etc. Give me summer any day!

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

It takes me such along to time to adjust to getting up in the dark and to get over the urge to go to bed when it gets dark again..It's seems unatural...but love the crisp days, clear nights, the stars always seem brighter in the winter and the sunrises and sunsets have loads more colour.

But it does my head in when you get days of grey lifeless skies...The worst thing about today is that it takes me all day to work out if I get up earlier or later! Doh

Lee mentioned special light. I have always had Vita Lights in my kitchen. They are full spectrum (like sunlight) flourescent tubes. They are also used in hospitals for babies when they are first born and may have jaundice. They are expensive but they sure make it nice in the winter - no more mid-winter depression. They last at least 3 years so the expense is minimal. In my house - the kitchen is the place to hang in the winter - I even have speakers in the walls.

I only have them in the kitchen though. If you put them elsewhere they will fade colours and fabric - just like sunlight. So the kitchen with the tile is the place for them. You can read about them and SAD here:

That only balances out the hour you lost at the start of summer though

Did you know that it was introduced, in the UK certainly, during the war to maximise the amount of daylight hours worked in factories, so reducing the need for lights (and thus a target for the dirty germans)
