Actually, he didn't pull out last minute, it was pretty sure all along he wouldn't show. Tommy Thayer was there for the press conference and it was 90% sure then that he'd do the show also. Ace wants more money and he thought he could demand anything. Gene simply replaced him. Ace must feel stupid now...
