At least where you live, you have the option of practicing outside...Golf is practically finished up here. There are a few indoor ranges, but that's about it...stupid Canadian climate

To me, golf is incredilby boring to watch. I think it's one of those sports that are more interesting to play than to just watch.

Anyone can smash a ball as far as their strength allows, given that they have a little co-ordination. What separates the boys from the men in golf is the short game, ie chipping and putting. These are possibly the most difficult skills to master in golf, as brute strength isn't an issue, rather timing, aim and a lot of concentration.

I'm with you, Ryan.

It's not no... it's also hitting a ball and then getting into a cart with equally lazy friends to drive to the next shot, or tee.

You have to be fit just like any other sport. The mentallity of the game is more difficult than any other sport. You have different types of swings, putts, equipment is more expensive. Why wouldn't it be a sport?
It's sport in a way, but the lack of much exercise turns it more into a game. Just as snooker or pool are still in a way sports but moreso games.

There are more rules in golf than any other sport. When broken down, you realize it is the hardest sport in the world. There aspects of the swing is difficult to understand. You have different shots for ever hole. You have trees, water, sand... All in which are intended for a challenge. It is the hardest sport in the world and I dare anyone to go out there and try to hit a perfect shot 3 times in a row.
I didn't say it was easy

I have been playing golf for years. I am very good and I can't go out there and hit every shot I want perfectly.
haven't i seen you on tv? ... in a group of Americans playing against Europeans???

People say you don't have to work as hard. Sure you do... You walk 18 holes, you work-out. You have to be fit to play golf just like every other sport.
You don't HAVE to be fit no. And that walking isn't a great deal of exercise really.

Tiger Woods is a prime example. The time he puts into practicing everyday proves why he is the best player to walk the face of the earth.

So when broken down, golf is really harder than every other sport. I must say I work my ass off to be at the level I am out. Tied for 1st in qualifying is very tough. I played in 30 degree weather, rainy... I wasn't even trained for that. Some of you couldn't take the time to practice that much.
I'd say NONE of us would take the time to practice that much since we are talking about golf (which incidentally I used to play a lot when I was 11 or so and should really sell that full-set I acquired to get some money in).

Golf is 90 percent mental. You have the wrong mindset, then you are done. I am proud of myself at where I am at. I have had a hole in one in my life. The hardest thing to do in golf is get a hole in one. I get it when I was 15 years old. One year before the best golfer to walk to the face of the earth got his... Jack Nicklaus.. Take the challenge and try to go out and hit 3 perfect shots everytime. I bet you can't do it.
Well maybe playing for about 8 or 9 years some of us could do that... we choose not to (i choose not to). It's difficult but then people have different definitions of difficulty and what might be easy for me could be the hardest thing on the planet for you with one sport and what could be the easiest for you the most difficult for me with another game.

Well, you said nobody would take the time to practice that much. If you were seriously into the game and tried to improve. Practice makes perfect. Your are correct. Tiger is estimated to be worth a couple billion dollars by the age of thirty! I think anyone could say golf is difficult though. Trying to go out there your first time and hit a perfect shot is very difficult. What sports do you play?
