Good shootin' troops

Well done to the US for shooting and killing ten women and children in Iraq. You truly are protecting the future of your nation and delivering the world from evil. Well done. Maybe next time you can make sure you hit all of them though: four people were unhurt.

theres been suicide bombings lately.....and they didnt stop after being signaled to and they were driving right at them.....if it meant your life in this situation.....what would you have done

The following is taken from the Washington post:

"Fire a warning shot," he ordered as the vehicle kept coming. Then, with increasing urgency, he told the platoon to shoot a 7.62mm machine-gun round into its radiator. "Stop [messing] around!" Johnson yelled into the company radio network when he still saw no action being taken. Finally, he shouted at the top of his voice, "Stop him, Red 1, stop him!"

That order was immediately followed by the loud reports of 25mm cannon fire from one or more of the platoon's Bradleys. About half a dozen shots were heard in all.

"Cease fire!" Johnson yelled over the radio. Then, as he peered into his binoculars from the intersection on Highway 9, he roared at the platoon leader, "You just [expletive] killed a family because you didn't fire a warning shot soon enough!"

Those fcuking uneducated unemployable *chaos* artists in the [{}] army messed up and women and children lost their lives.

There is one main reason why people join the army, and it isn't 'to serve their country', it is because they are too *beep* dumb to find a job that requires at the very least counting skills.

The soldiers involved "absolutely did the right thing," General Peter Pace, vice-chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said. "Our soldiers on the ground have an absolute right to defend themselves."

Yep. This is a war, not a training exercise. The troops had a split second decision to make and based on the recent tactics employed by Iraq I believe they made the right one. It is a great tragedy what the eventual outcome was, but hindsight is not a luxury afforded in times of War! Just ask the families of those who were killed by the suicide bomber!

Yeah, big guys with big guns were threatened by weak innocent women and children! When you're back into a corner by such a theateneing bunch of women and children what can you do but shoot them all down?

I'm not passing too much judgement, I understand that this sort of thing will inevitably happen when you're at war. But come on, those excuses are lame, really lame. They should at least hold their hands up, say "hey, we ****ed up, we're human,". Defending themselves....huf.......

I resent that statement. My brother was in the army for years, and he for sure is not uneducated and unemployable. And please refrain from calling him a fcuk artist, this was uncalled for and I expect an apology immediately. Just beacuse you're so high and righteous doesn't mean that you have the authority to stereotype and judge such a large amount of people. People, who you may not have noticed, are giving their lives to defend yours, however pathetic it may be.

There's a girl I know at work, who's finishing Uni after Easter, and will be joining the navey next year. She's certainly not stupid. As far as I'm awear, she's joining becuase of the opotinities to see places, do things you enjoy (i.e the training not killing) and will get paid for it. It's not for me, but dont' condemn people who do join.....

What, and people who don't join the army are all geeks who couldn't lift an empty cardboard box?
