Exactly, well said.

If you agree to join any sector of the fources you're agreeing to fight, to put your own beliefs asside, and be profesional, and do the job. I've gathered that there are a lot of benefits from being in the fources, one of the bits you put in is that you agree to do this.... Peole who now refuse to fight are takers, who want in when they can get something out of it, but when they have to do their job, when they have to really do what they agreed to do, it's just spineless to back down.
I'd say it would be very couragous if they truly didn't belive in the war to back down... The consequences would be dire.

Mike
Then they shouldnt' have joined an armed fource should they!

At the end of the day, the point of an army is that they are a tool of the government. They can protest before, they can continue to believe they shouldn't be there, but the fact is it's their job, they agreed that if they were asked to fight, they would do. They're backing down on an agreement they made when they joined, which I think is spineless. If they felt so abverse to fighting, and fighting maybe for a cause they didn't completely believe in, then what the hell are they doing in the army!!!!!!!!

They weren't missinformed, they knew that joining an army means you may have to fight, and you may have to fight in a war you don't believe in. It's not for them to decide now that they're not going to do it. I don't want there to be fighting, but if it's going to be stoped, it has to be the government who pull them out, not frictions within the army itself......
They joined it to defend their country

They volunteer to be trained to be effective in defending our country...

Not to be used at the whim of the PM who has undemocratically sent them off to a War that has not been justified & cannot come under the heading of defending the country...

For King & Queen???

For Tony Blair!!

...

The fact that the ppl weren't consulted..

& neither was parliament before it was too late.. (I.e. The day before).

UN were ignored....

I'm not sure of your idea of a democracy Goose.. But it obviously differs to mine.

People werent consulted..? Which people? Us? Why do we need to be consulted? This isnt direct democracy in its truest form ie Athens, we elect these people to make these choices for us.

I'd hardly say the communications between the UN and Britain could called them being 'ignored' In resolution 678 the security council authorised force against Iraq

Methinks you have realised that you cant make a difference and thats what annoys you so much..?

Well - Yeah considering I pay substantial taxes & don't have a say what they r used for...

I would have felt alot better about this war if I knew I was genuinely in the minority...

One man making the decisions does not constitute democracy... It also doesn't guarantee a good decision. Even parliament was snubbed..

& whilst this is going on other stuff is being ignored..

Can u tell me the major bombshell that occured last week concerning pensions?? That would otherwise have caused uproar?? But was passed virtually unnoticed??

Can u tell me who has donated Millions to the labour party this week?? Off the top of your head??

New laws concerning speed cameras....

New laws concerning DNA testing...

The above would usually have been hugely controversial.
