Default Double Your Culpability, Double Your Time

Dallas News.com: Nykees Earl Campbell...known as "NaNa" and "Ny-Nizzle"...wanted to rap about what was real. So he posted...videos on YouTube and Facebook Live about his violent war with a rival gang, which played out with deadly consequences on the streets of Dallas (Texas USA).

Campbell, who has no criminal history...(pleaded) guilty...(to) a charge of distributing cocaine...initially facing almost six years in prison. But (the judge) granted (the prosecutor's) request for an enhanced prison term...(of) 12 years...due to Campbell's alleged violent gang activities documented in his own videos that were played during...(his) sentencing hearing...

(P)rosecutors...matched up (Campbell's) words with actual crimes, including an ambush robbery in which he allegedly shot a man eight times while he was asleep in bed. Campbell...hasn't been charged with those crimes...although he remains a suspect...

(The judge) told Campbell that much of the information she relied on "came out of your mouth..."
It's too late for him to take this refresher course, but it's not too late for the rest of us:

Ryan Lochte Suspended A Year Over Incredible Instagram Self-Snitch

The United States Anti-Doping Agency announced...that...swimmer...Ryan Lochte would be suspended for 14 months for “his use of a prohibited method.”

Lochte apparently picked up the ban after anti-doping officials noticed a May 24 Instagram post showing Lochte...had violated USADA policy (by) receiving an “athletic recovery” IV injection drip of...more than 100ml...of vitamins...

Lochte was set to make a comeback at the U.S. National Championships this week, and his suspension means that he’ll also miss next year’s World Championships. His participation at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics...is probably in serious jeopardy...
A real tragedy when you consider that 12-time Olympic medaler Locthe had been clever enough to avoid criminal charges and abandon his teammates during the 2016 summer Olympics by flying out of Brazil with bleached hair! And just as he had appeared to have cleaned up his act with marriage and parenthood...

Click2Houston.com: In March (2018), two rappers...Maxo Kreme...(and) NFL Cartell Bo...were filming...next to...(an) elementary school...Some students made it into the video...When police arrived at the park, most of the people ran...

(A)ccording to police...about a dozen loaded guns, some of them stolen...(were) being used as props and the extras holding the weapons were all documented street gang members...Some of them had open warrants and were arrested on the spot...Drugs were also found...
It's difficult, to say the least, to feel sorry for those who thought there would be no problem with being filmed in public brandishing a loaded weapon while the cops were looking for them. At least some of them had enough operative brain cells to make good their escape -- and of course the camera operator had enough operative brain cells to destroy all of the footage immediately...

Rolling Stone: (Houston rappers) Maxo Kream and NFL Cartel Bos Hoova music video...opens with footage of police arriving to the park...The clip was released via...YouTube...(in May 2018)...(P)olice used it...to track down...(and) arrest 20 men...who appeared in it...

(NFL Cartel Bo)...was charged with illegally possessing two assault rifles and threatening a cop as he was transported to jail. Police say ...(he) cut off his ankle monitor and ceased communication after being released on bond. Maxo Kream was not arrested...Nine men in total are still on the run.

I'd like to know more about the chain of custody of the footage -- if the cops didn't seize it, how did the video get made and posted online two months later? Could there be a connection between its materializing and Maxo not being arrested?
