Well the whole rugby planet except England is pissed. Maybe it's because 99% of their game is based on JW. They do it well allright, but is so boring, so out of class... It's hardly rugby... Why do you think there were extra points given after four tries in pool matches? So we could see real games. And the only game England managed to really play rugby in was against Uruguay...
England is to rugby what Italy is to football: negative.
(In a movie they'd be the bad guys team )

But they won and it wasn't an easy thing so well done. No team proved to be strong enough so stop them. Congratulations.
I just hope this doesn't set the new standards for the next four years or more, otherwise it's going to be really boring.

that is bollocks! i've never heard anything so strange in my life. you're basically saying that without wilkinson we are a shadow of the team we are now? we beat the aussies, all blacks and south africa all in the southern hemisphere without relying on jonny. if you're telling me that match today suited anything but a kicking game, you're wrong. as was last week's game and partly the quarter final against wales. funny how nobody can just give us our moment of glory?

something strange about brits. why do we put up with so much shit? maybe we're perceived as a walkover, who knows? i'd rather be like america in some ways, they don't take any messing.

Hang on, during the last two years England has been playing incredible rugby, and against the best nations, no doubt. But not in this competition, I'm sorry.
England IS the best rugby team on this planet right now, they just didn't win the world cup playing like it. They've been playing it safe through all the competition.
Almost all englands game has been orientated to earn kicks for JW. You need a strong pack for that, great conquest on throw ins etc... which England had at their best today... but I don't find it interesting to watch. And I don't want rugby to evolve towards this. I actually believe that without JW England would have had to play with guts and would still have won (maybe with a larger margin) because they do have the best team right now. They played it safe.

And this has got nothing to do with the fact that it's England and not Australia, or Wales or France or Lichtenstein. I would have been the first to applaud if England had shown anything interesting in this competition, if they had played only one game on their qualities rather than on their oponents mistakes or weaknesses, even if it's also part of the game.

the match was boring. not because england were playing bu because of adverse weather conditions, a number of silly handling errors and two closely matched teams on the day.

look i have to be the biggest rugby nut here and i dont think they did too good, i was working and only had it on the radio so dont quote me on this till i atleast watch the highlights at midnight but i saw them play at Twickenham in worse rain as it has been raining most the week if i remember and they still did better, ok so the team wernt the current title holders but that shows nowt in my eyes.

just was hoping for a little more technical game, win the cup in class...thats what id like to see BUT never the less, on paper england have done it
