We have a seemingly similar celebration in parts of the country, also with kids go door-to-door collecting sweets while singing songs and stuff on the night of the 11th of November (called 'Sint-Maarten'), but that's totally unrelated to Halloween apparently .

But I really enjoy that time of the year, days getting shorter, the lights on the streets, the atmosphere. For me that always starts with Sint-Maarten in November, pretty much a Halloweeny-atmosphere I guess .
