Happy 4th Of July

Good deal, I've got the 4th off of work.

I've engaged in a war with the local alderman, so I won't be doing fireworks if I don't want to wind up with a $1000 fine. I'd like to go to the range, but hundreds of other people have the same idea, and having an M1 Garand discharged in my ear isn't cool. So, I'm going to hang out with my family, and do some work on remodeling the basement.

I hope everybody has a happy and fireworks filled day. And remember, other countries have 4ths of July too...we have an Independence Day!

Brits living in the US don't get the dy off. WTF is that about. There was a guy on the radio over here, and he said he was the only one in the office out of 200 workers O.o

Americans living in UK can have both UK and USA holidays off work, thats double the holidays

It rained a lot today , did manage to have a chilled out afternoon. Spunky, the Macdonalds comment was because its the most American thing I can do in this little British town

I rarely eat macdonalds, in fact I only managed a few chicken nuggest tonigh and they were disgusting...

says who? That's totally not true. If it is a declared holiday in the office every employee gets off unless they opt not to (ie. people who need to be on call etc).

Mind you, not every American gets the day off either. There are many too many people who don't get paid holidays, so they either take a day without pay or work. However, the color of your passport has nothing to do with it.

It's even worse if you haven't had it for a while.... can't you just make your own burgers and buy some american beer? (although all my neighbors are having coronas...)

my dad says the UK is a lot like canada .... heard some say like seattle , never been to either so cant comment.
