I also think the whole thing is very commercial and you should show your love everyday but I do think it's nice to get a little thing (it's the thought that counts)

Is this the typical Belgian way of thinking then ? I spoke to another girl from Belgiam half an our ago on MSN and she said about the same. I agree though.

Valentines Day is stupid, if you're only willing to take your lover out on a special date on Valentines Day it looks like he's forced to and not because it's done out of love. Nowadays a card doesn't mean that much anymore I think, only when there's a real special meaning on it including something you normally don't dare to say or something like that.

I don't think it's a typical Belgian way of thinking ... Valentine's day is actually pretty 'popular here ... Alllllllllll the restaurants are full for tonight, shops are filled with hearts and things to buy as presents and I think a lot of people will be proposed tonight as well hehe ...
So it's actually more my way of thinking ... I dont really know. I dont want to do act like you're 'supposed to' on Valentine's day (IF I had a bf of course) but I think it would be kinda weird to don't say or do nothing about it either ... Don't know of course!
I do think a card can be enough ... If something sweet and like you said with special meaning is written on it is is more then enough.

I got one card here... but it doesnt really count. (my grandma sends them every year.)
