Luckily your reply is extremely intelligent, so that makes up for all the silly replies! Thank you; go, Walrus!

And yeah, stupid threads just invite you to give a stupid answer.

Keeper, I'd love to be more enthusiastic about it, but I was so disappointed with Half Blood Prince that I'm not as into the series as I was before. If Harry, Hermione, and Ron are behaving in the last one like they were in HBP, it's going to be hard to root for any of them against the bad guys. Harry's not acting like a hero. Hermione seems to have lost about 100 of her IQ points. Ron was an insensitive prick, nothing new there. And Ginny, god, if she's as Mary Sue in DH as she was in HBP, I don't think I'll be able to stomach the last book. I'm going to wait for the spoilers to see if I want to bother with it.

The title doesn't flow well and having a reference to death in the title doesn't seem to bode well for Harry surviving.

You basically you think they grew up too fast?

No, I think they all regressed! They were behaving more like grown ups in OOTP.

I've just been reading a discussion on the title here: http://talk.portkey.org/index.php?showtopic=21710&st=20

Oh, Becky! My reply wasn't in the least aimed at you! I'm very sorry if it sounded like that. It was more aimed at the people who knowingly open a thread just to bash the subject matter - but you know enough about that

I quite like the title though it doesn't sound too optimistic. I did like HBP and liked Ginny so I'm looking forward to seeing where things go now. I'm saddened by the fact that this will be the last time we have a new release with all the excitement it brings - no more theories, no more speculation - but I can't wait to read the end. Bittersweet, really.

Oh, yeah, I do know what you mean.

Reading the ideas they're putting out on Portkey makes it more interesting to me. I'm wondering if the alchemy theories are true and who is the character that was supposed to die but got a reprieve. But I also think back to how annoying all the characters were in HBP and I'm not sure they're characters I want to care about anymore. What Harry did to Draco set him back on his journey to being a hero. He needed to stop worrying about the monster in his pants (chest) and focus more on what Dumbledore was trying to teach him. I didn't like the lack of resolution over everything that happened at the end of OOTP. Harry barely had a reaction to the death of someone very important. Hermione was gravely injured and it wasn't even addressed (maybe the injury is the reason she was acting like someone else). Luna and Neville who were so important in OOTP were barely on the canvas.

see i dont agree wif you on that! lol i thought that the characters were exactly the way they were meant to be and that was 16 yeare olds! harry doing that spell didnt set him back on the path of being a hero he was curious to know wat the spell was just like everyone reading it was 2! harry is not and out and out good guy! u have to remember that hes meant to have a darkside as well! as for the reaction of harry to the death i think it was well covered in the last chapter and the for most of the HBP.

to be honest i didnt notice a difference to herminoe in HBP Jk just opted to focus more on the relationship she has with Ron.

luna and neville were minor characters in all the seires except for extended part in the last 2 books but they arnt really THAT important IMO.

haha...how pathetic. playing the big expert. i keep on checking the "What was the last book you read" thread and the books you read can hardly be labeled as literature. neither can harry potter be. and i wouldn't just talk if i hadn't read the first book. it's not so much about being a children's book (so is Nils Holggersson, still it's great) it's more about being CRAP!

And by the way? Why does somebody who thinks that children's literature is FOR CHILDREN have no clue about literature? Just because you are a pathetic person who talks nonsense whenever. And once again, Harry Potter is as much literature as Britney Spears is music.
