Default HELP: mircosoft word???

k after several thousand words of pro capitalist ranting for my economics coursework i cant save my work to disk because its been made to be read only. i dont know why cos i havent done anything and i think it may be somethign to do with my computer running slower than Steven hawkins just now but how do i make it not read only so i can save it?

as u can imagine the prospect of not having backup for all this work isn't very nice and ironically a big part of he essay is about microsoft.

At the "bottom" of your disk are 2 holes. The right one has to be opened and the left one closed. Then you can write on your disc. I don't know if that's what you wanted to know but I hope it helps. If that doesn't help you can only try to format it.

Can you just copy the text into a new file and save it that way?

if what An-U says isn't the problem, right click the file, Properties then uncheck the Read-Only box.

I don't know which version you have but at least up to windows 98 that doesn't work for a whole disc. Only for already existing files but what do you do if you can't ceate one on the disc?
