decided to stick on the cure and it;s making me want one even more

from the stone roses to the smiths to tom petty to flickerstick.... i don;t think there's ever been a bad Ric sound ever laid down on track.

quite glad i've spent close to 1500 quid on music gear so far this year or els ei'd already have had 1 ordered.

speaking of strings, ive tried a couple of guitars out, and for some reason (on some) i cant seem to play with any speed or flow on them?....i dunno if its the strings at the shop or fretboard finish but its quite baffling....anyone expereinced this??

well what kinda guitars are you talkign bout playing and what fretboard materials are they?

90% chance it's the set up of the guitar anyways but little things like the string guage or neck profile could be to blame

well for example i played ona standard fender squire and it seemed fine, i have played on other fenders they seemd fine...there was a stag telecaster which i treid to play but my fingers seemed stuck to the board....surely must be the wood finish?

it was quite embarrassing when i picked it up and i was tripping all over the place

maples usually a bit harder to play on and get used to than rosewood so maybe that's it but again it may very well have just been the set up or if the stagg had on old gloss style finish it may have been stickier than the squires.

squires can be set up pretty well so they can play great, maybe these ones were just set up properly and the stagg wasnt

was it squire strats or tele's you were playing btw?

tele's are really unforgiving guitars and you need to be pretty solid technique wise with them cos they expose every little mistake or little things other guitars hide.
