tele's are really unforgiving guitars and you need to be pretty solid technique wise with them cos they expose every little mistake or little things other guitars hide.
the stagg telecaster...i was playing the simple these days riff (verses), and while i played clean, my hands took an age to slide across fret....odd...must have been an overglossed finish me thinks.

speaking of strings, ive tried a couple of guitars out, and for some reason (on some) i cant seem to play with any speed or flow on them?....i dunno if its the strings at the shop or fretboard finish but its quite baffling....anyone expereinced this??
I found that when I first learnt electric guitar, my uncle leant me his telecaster copy and it had a rosewood fretboard. He then brought up his jap strat for me to try out which had a maple fretboard and the laquer they put on them made me really struggle - I just gave up in the end and decided to stick with rosewood. 2 years down the line I decided to try out the maple necks again (cos they look so much nicer) and the Sambora strat played just fine!! It just takes time to get used to. Once you've got a reliable technique you can play on almost any wood. Still notice the difference, just not as much.
