I don't think saying "hi, I'm on this board here now, too" is breaking any rule on any board. And this happens to one of the people who are banned. It was long after the first bunch of people were banned and the poster didn't know anything about it.

Another one was banned yesterday. The one who offered the Richie-T-shirts. She posted about the shirts weeks ago (the same day I posted it here), the threads was locked and deleted a few days later. Which was okay, because this really was against the rules.

She didn't post anything about the T-Shirts after that and suddenly yesterday she got banned because of the shirts. This was the reason RSBoardMom gave to her. Weeks after the first post and without any further posts about the shirts.

Sure, it's only a messageboard. But it is the messageboard of Richie's official homepage, not a fanpage or something. That's why I think it's different. It's not the best advertising for Richie.

We always thought Backstage would be over-moderated. But Backstage is heaven compared to RS.com. Really.

A few days back I posted an answer on the board where someone wrote that maybe the promo-tour is cancelled because of SARS. I wrote that this can't be the reason and that they (the band, no one from the board)should know where Europe is and where Toronto and Peking are. RSBoardMom sent me a PM and said she is thinking of banning me too because of this post. The PM also came days after my post on the board. I'm not banned though but I don't post there very much anymore because you really always have to think about being banned if you post there.

let's face it in the topsy-turvy world of heavy metal/rock n roll that these guys lived for so long i'm sure a little criticism or a few idiots/genuine fans getting banned from their message boards isn't exactly going to offend them:

(apllying to virtually any rocker ever):

Fan to star: i got banned from your message board for swearing once

Star to fan: i got arrested for importanting 1000s of kgs of cocaine, indecent exposure, numerous car crashes and hotels trashed, and i saw my best friend die after we were shooting up together....

.... but HOW DARE YOU SWEAR ON MY MESSAGE BOARD

This poster above only came here to complain about another fan page. It was his first post at all here on this board.
That's not a very good argument. Even if someone didn't know what "Richieland" was, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it's his home page's messageboard. If it's okay to bash Backstage here, then any official site is a legit target. How does it make sense to have a doublestandard based on popularity? Personally, I think it's rather silly to bash either of them here.

the best site in the world for democratic fan discussion is (here's where thierry gets made) www.thehighwaystar.com (Deep Purple's fansite - they'll praise and criticise anything and there's never a gigantic backlash each time this happens)... they talk about bootlegs, how much they hate previous/current band membres, bootleg dvds etc...

that's what all boards should be like

yeah i find it kinda amusing how every time in a chat there, at least on person says oh my richie (which i think is pretty blasphemous) and nobody blinks an eye but i say religion is at the root of alot of the world problems and things wud be nicer if there were no religions at all and i get hell. fair enough u might not agree with me but i think saying that is nowhere near as anti religious as sayin omr
