I like Hilary and hope she gets back in the old white house.

However it is well known in business circles that for a woman to be taken seriously she should not show her cleavage. No cleavage in the boardroom otherwise you are seen as trying to play the sex card.

Whether we like it or not politics and business are prodominately still a mans world and women have to cover up these days to match men. I attend meetings usually in trouser suit and I have to say it does make a difference to how people react to me compared to if I wear a skirt, it shouldnt matter but it does..

I'd have to disagree with you Dawn.

Studies do show that women have to look good in order to be considered 'on par' with men in the business world. Putting on make-up and wearing feminine clothes are a big part of 'looking good' with respect to women. Like it or not, but the business world is ruled by men and even in this day and age, men still like to be surrounded by attractive women. Making appearance as much a factor in promotions and positions as intelligence and people skills.

Take note that skirts and feminine clothes do not equate to skanky-ness.

I do like this quote from the article:
Good on Hillary Clinton for finally acknowledging that she is, you know, a woman and for daring to presume that the public is sufficiently adult to listen to her making a speech on the cost of higher education whilst wearing a non-poloneck, without being inflamed by lustful feelings. What a shame she was wrong.

(oh and the sex card still works in the board room :P or so I hear)

I completely agree with u , u do have to look good in the board room in feminine flattering clothes but without cleavage showing !

I did see Hilary pic and there was cleavage showing, I would never show that amount of cleavage in a business meeting.
