Cool pictures - so much gear for me to buy

Russ and I had our first lesson tonight, our teacher is really cool and the lesson went well. We have lots to learn; 5 chords, Am petatonic scale and a few power chords. Some AC/DC, Troggs and Dylan/Guns N' Roses (Knocking on Heaven's Door).

We have our next lesson booked for 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to getting down to some practice.

A pre-amp is always a good investment, and many under-estimate the value of a simple pop-sheild.

btw, I've just had an awful burst of GAS and ordered this: http://www.fender.co.uk/products/sea...tno=0265200550

I'm such a bitch for amazing looking guitars

That's a super sexy guitar, can't wait till I'm good enough to justify buying such a model. I have a feeling I'll be a bad sufferer of GAS, it's all I can do to stop myself buying guitars now - just that little last thread of common sense that tells me to 'learn first, buy later,!

don't misunderstand me, I'm not a great player: I play well over a hundred chords (yes, some I have to look up), but I can't solo and I'm not dedicated enough to learn sacles and learn to develop solos. I can riff, which is part of the way there but otherwise....

I must admit i'm terribly swayed by looks, I'm getting hold of a bright lime-green Flying Vee with Chrome hardware and a solid silver pickup soon (custom job obviously)

I buy guitars that I like the look or sound of, playing something I'm excited by motivates me to hit that tricky jazzy shimmy from an annoying 9th onto f#m, whereas having a duller Strat or similar wouldn'tmake me wanna play it.

Chords-wise? G (or G5 i suppose), D, Am - G, D, C innit?

Then all 5ths in the chorus? Tell me what your teacher said, I don't wanna have been playing it wrong all these years

We didn't get as far as the chrous - just the first few intro bars which is exactly as you said. I just played it a few times, hopefully by the next lesson my transitions will be smoother and faster.

I'm not a great singer myself, but I do have a voice. I usually play Cinderella covers, so I have learned to use Tom's voice well.

Two Framptones!?!

If you're ever looking to trade in for a Heil, I'll do you a swap as I was thinking of investing in one of the Framptones myself at some point.
