Yeah but, who actually even sees your pedals when you're on stage?

All my patches do actually sound different too so I'm not just re-using the same gain and amp settings from song to song. Whether they actually sound anything like how they're supposed to is a matter of personal taste I suppose but if I had an army of stomp-boxes that created the same effects:

1) They'd need a separate stage for themselves

2) They'd take an age to set up

3) I'd have to remember exactly which ones to turn on/off for each song (and there are a lot remember!)

4) I'm not able to spend a grand or so on pedals

As for the laptop, just pretend that it's controlling the lighting rigs or something!

Well it was on my DVcam so a little better quality. I bought a little clip-on pickup thingy for it that I'd usually use when recording, but at the time didn't have the software to do that.
The guitar is a Florian SW203LHTB, got it on ebay not too long ago, was £50 I think. It's a left handed one - I didn't **** up and mirror the video lol

1) fellow discerning GAS sufferers will make a point of checking out your pedal board. you don't want them to be like hmmm i wonder what pseudo-sambora is rockin tonight , oh its a big boss multi thing.

2) the footprint of that unit cant be much smaller than an average sized pedal board. even if it is you can just pap wayne away at the side again to make room

3) you have them all set up on the board (unless you're stupid and like messing around with patch cables before gigs.

4) you're playing bon jovi stuff how many pedals do you need? i could get by with just the sansamp gt2 and my guitars volume knob. i'd maybe break out the wah, a delay and a chrous if i was trying to nail everything perfect. even if i was going to be pedantic and use a phaser for stuff like novocaine you'd still pnly have 4-6 pedals to mess around with and most would be going on or off at seperate times.

5) how much have you spent on guitar necks for your doubleneck project guitar?

6) we don't even have lights but we're going to have to sort something out since we're getting paid more to "DJ" at said gig too.

i might have my bass player coming along to your gig too btw. not particularly sure the missus will be happy with that but bro's before ho's n all that

I got a nylon string classical acoustic guitar a couple of years back but never really did more than learn a few basic chords and some simple licks. I got an electric guitar a while back and then replaced my acoustic one with a proper steel strung one, and though I rarely touch the electric one I tend to practise more with the acoustic now. I just try to focus on learning new chords, and usually try to do it by finding songs I like and learning the chords I need to play them, and learning that way.
I don't have the patience with it to practise enough to be any good, I know I won't ever be, but if I can get to a point of being more comfortable playing, learning more chords, and especially I need to work on singing at the same time, that'll do me

I did record a version of Have A Nice Day and stuck it up on YouTube if anyone is interested. It isn't too good, but as I said, that's just me now.
