I'm glad I've never tried I sing double lead more than backing vocals. Our lead guitarist has a voice like sandpaper on a bullfrog so I (rythm guitarist) sing.

Hardest thing is the key-change is LOAP. You really need a clamp for your b*lls to hit the Woah-OH

If were gonna do a calaboration I have recordings (rythm) of all of SWW and KTF on a Gibson SG GT and a Tele.

SG GT??? what's that?

i was thinking i believe would be cool to do a collab on but anyone can throw ideas out there.

it'd probably be better if i laid the drums down and then sent it off to have the other tracks laid on top of it instead of trying to lay the drums under tracks you've already recorded but if there's a way to sync them up that'd be cool.

I don't think I could contribute to anything any good, but if you need ideas for how to send each other recordings to use - try adobe audition. It ain't free (unless you know where to look lol) but you can setup multi-track recording, so you'd only need to send each other the recorded audio and the session file, and it'd all be there for you to use.

yep it is. It's a bit of a poser axe tbh, but I counteract that with a Rickenbacker, Steinberger and the Tele. And a Squier Strat. And a Les Paul Standard. And a Flying Vee. plus a couple of Staggs from my teens. Yes, I have GAS

cool

im not really into recording straight onto a comp. i prefer putting everything onto my 12 tracks, mixing it then sticking it on for final EQ-ing but that programme sounds cool.

Well I'd imagine you can achieve everything with powerful enough software that you could on hardware. I know our tutor on our digital audio module last year had some software that he showed us and it was laid out to look like a full recording studio, and it was apparently very expensive, and was programmed to work just like the real thing.

+1 on the ric

:-S on the steinberger

+1 on the tele

i'm toying with the idea of buying an edwards les paul goldtop with p90s. it's gorgeous but i really don't need another guitar especially one with 2 p90s since my asat special already has that configuration

but then again, it is another guitar

i hate GAS sometimes.

Whats wrong with a Stienberger, its a good talking point.

I just record each seperate part of the song (keeping the teminology simple considering the thread), the vocals, rythm, lead, keyboards and drums and send the whole shabang to a mate to mix and master.

Comes out after mixing sounding terrible, but mastering smooths out the bumps. I do get tired of him sending me flat sections of the vocals though

GAS can be fun, I'd love to take a million quid to Norm's My collection is nothing compared to my Uncle's. He has near to 50 guitars I think, including a mid 60s Vee.
