Default How bad is your health service

Ive got a problem with my neck so i went and saw the doctor and she said that i need to have a cat scan so she was going to write to the consultant and get me seen,3 months later and i still havent heard a thing.I have been told that when he does agree to see me then i have a wait of 6 months , then when he agrees that i can have a scan i then have to wait 18 months ,is your health service as bad as this?

If you havent ahd your appointment to see he consultant yet you should ring the consultants secretary at the hospital , the switchboard will put you through. Ask her to check that she has your details(might have got lost) and ask how much longer before your appointment comes through.

I thought my insurance sucked, but not compared to that horror story. I wouldn't accept that as an answer. If you're in pain and need medical help, they shouldn't be telling you you have to wait 18 months!

you should switch docters. Not sure about your country, but I would never accept anything like this. I'd be seeing several docs and wreck havoc.

Since I changed employer, I've got excellent insurance. No copay, no deductible and the best is, I don't pay a dime monthly (my employer pays for it on my behalf).

Honestly i'm always amazed by stories like this one in UK. Even just to see a doctor when you're ill, it's nearly impossible (same for the kids) I don't understand this.
