Natural disaters are never talked about afterwards, because they are natural, has nothing to do with where! Do we still talk about the earthquake in Kyoto a few years ago or the floods in Bangladesh or the earthquake in San Francisco of 1906?? Doesn't make them less bad or that the country is of less importance, but it happens - that is nature and there is nothing that can be done about it. We do however still talk about World War 1 and 2 or the first war in Iraq, why? Man made!

There are actually reports linking the recent bombing of Iraq to the Earthquake in Iran....

Although I guess these are pretty farfetched

Well, if that's the case then I guess it will be talked about, but that does sound a bit farfetched!

Sadly, I think it's true. Here's a quote from a news article I found on Google:

Asked why Iran had accepted earthquake help from America but rejected an offer from Israel, Lari replied: "Israel is not a legitimate government; it is a force of occupation. How can they (the Israelis) have any sensibility when their tanks and bulldozers are destroying Palestinian homes?''
The Americans were a different matter, Lari said. "I believe it is possible that they have a humanitarian sensibility in such a dramatic situation. Besides, we consider the American government a legitimate government, even if we don't agree with U.S. foreign policy.''

Unbelievable that you can take a tragedy like this and still use it to point out your perception of American arrogance and go completely off topic. Why don't you just stop and think about all those people that were killed without sounding like a jackass.
