LOL! I'm generally a rather shy person. I don't speak to people who I don't know. I find it difficult to talk to people who i've never spoken to before. Once I know the person well enough, I probably won't shut up. I keep my thoughts to myself the majoity of the time, but once I get going...thats another story. Alcohol like mentioned above, is something that gives me a lot of confidence. I will talk to pretty much anyone, when ive had a few drinks. I'm pretty out-going really and those who meet me in the summer (be it Holland/Germany/USA) will see that. I don't think I'd have too much of a problem speaking to anyone from here. Especially the regular posters. I think the majority of us share a lot with one another, so it's easy to get to know somebody before they actually meet up.

The weird thing is we know each other really well, but not in person. Besides, if we meet you have to talk a lot so I can listen to your accent. I might not understand a word you're saying, but it will sound good. LOL

I still remain confident, that will change in July/August

You and Brooke make me laugh about my accent. I will have to speak slowly and properly and not use any 'scouse terminology

you know I am always interested in seeing other places, unfortunately, I'd first have to become independently wealthy to go everywhere I want to

As for me, I am pretty much like Kathleen, I have yet to meet someone I can't hold an interesting conversation with. The question is 'do I want to'? I used to talk a lot, I think. But these days, I really don't care to. If I like someone, I can talk forever. If I don't care for the people, I won't be sharing much and am less inclined to make an effort to engage in conversations with them.

At my old (and hopefully new job), I had clients I needed to make happy, thus, I had to have a bubbly personality - the ever so happy, positive and electric person. It does get old though, but then, it's a job...

i talk way too much at times and I'm pretty conscious of that.

i am really outgoing and i don';t think you can be like that and not talk alot or find it easy to talk to people...

i don't need drink to bring it out in me but it just adds to it.

i'm fairly confident very few of you could understand me talking like I would here with my normal dialect and speed.

I#m hopefully going to egypt on a tour in the summer with a group of folk from all over the world and I'm sure I won't have a problem talking to any of them.

nb: kilimanjaro fell through because it was getting stupidly expensive for somethign that at it's bluntest was walking up a big hill for a week with the real potential of dying, which i don't really want to do just yet.

I hope it works out too - I'm looking forward to it. I doubt that there will be any lack of topics to talk about and discuss and even argue. It sounds good to me
And Kev - your accent will NOT be a problem at all - we live close to New York - EVERYBODY has an accent of some sort or other. My ear is well tuned to listening through accents LOL.

Kathleen

With a lot of you guys, I wouldn't have any problem talking. We "know" each other, even though we've never met. I would feel comfortable around you. I REALLY want to make it to Giants this summer! Then you guys can hear my strange Southern/Jersey accent...it's funny. I sometimes talk like I've lived in the South all my life (and I have most of my life), and sometimes it's like I never left Jersey. It depends on who I'm around. I pick up that accent. I'm weird, I know!

Around family, a moderate amount. Around others? Too much when I shouldn't, otherwise hardly at all. I'm very shy and very polite, and that doesn't contribute to talking very much.

My Southern drawl gets thicker whenever I'm around non-Southerners. I hate it when that happens! LOL
