How to get HP CDRW 8200i working with Windows XP?

Default How to get HP CDRW 8200i working with Windows XP?

Okay... nowīs your time to shine.

Installed Windows XP pro finally and it regognises the cd writer but thinks that itīs only normal CD-rom drive. Cant find any drivers ANYWHERE so JT computer gurus and gods, I need your help.

The model of the cd writer is HP CD Writer plus 8200 INTERNAL....

Thx anyway. Just dont want people to fill this topic with "I would want to help you but dont know how" -posts. Itīs easier to search for the actual information when/if there is such thing.

Have you tried using the windows automatic driver updater - check and see if the latest CD-R drivers are installed?

was going to suggest that too as i had the same problem

also, im not being stupid but are there any lights on, is anything working? can you open the cd tray? sounds stupid but i dont know what stage you are at with it..

Really think Iīm THAT stupid. I do this thing for living god dammit. Yes the software is there thatīs true... BUT NOT THE DRIVERS. Thank you very much. Took about 5 secs

PS. solved the problem. phone call to HP finland and they send me the drivers and confirmed that no there are no drivers for that model online.

Then why didn't you say you'd already downloaded the drivers from HP.com? I can't read your mind, you know... And it says "drivers" on the link, not my fault if it's only software.
