When you say, 'take the US to the WC,' I take it you mean coach them to a high enough standard to get them there cos he can't actually play for them.

He hasn't lived in the States long enough to be classified as a US citizen, none of his relatives are American (to my knowledge) and I'm sure there is a rule that states if you play for one country, it automatically disqualifies you from playing for any other nation you may have been eligible to play for in the future.

I didnt know this....makes sense though that he wouldnt be able to play...

Yeah, it's something like - if one of your parents or grandparents is from a different country to that in which you were born, you may be eligible to represent that country should you choose to do so. However, once you have selected the country you wish to represent, you cannot then amend your allegiance later on and represent your country of birth. The same is true in the opposite scenario also.
