Actually, wasps are critically important in natural biocontrol. Almost every pest insect species has a wasp species that is predator or parasite upon it. Wasps are also increasingly used in agricultural pest control.

Yes, I like Wikipedia.

Aw, Becky. Take good care and I hope it heals well and soon.

And, yes, Ice - Wikipedia is great!

And i thought the bee's was the ones who had most needed function in natur of the two. So wasps eats/kills other insects?

It's not a wiki, it's Wikipedia. Different thing.

Bees are just food for animals. They do carry pollen around, but that can be done by others as well. Wasps kill harmful insects and keep their numbers down, kinda like predators.

I hope your wrist heals as fast as possible. My daughter broke her wrist falling and they said it would take 6 weeks, infact it only took 3, guess kids heal quicker.

Hope you feel better real soon.

Dawn

Wiki's are webpage’s were the users are allowed to modify and correct the content. At least the Swedish version of Wikipedia is a wiki according to this definition. The definition is from Susning.nu (a Swedish site) which is a wikisite and also says that Wikipedia is a wikisite. You know Swedish so you can check it up for yourself.

Wasp kills these armful insects to feed their off springs. a full grown wasp eats fruits and nectar, but the do not spread pollen due to they have no hair that the pollen can be transported with (source Nationalencyklopedin). According to a Swedish encyclopedia wasp don't kill as many harmful insects as birds who has this as a main function in nature (a real one not some fake wiki, called Nationalencyklopedin).
Wasp are consider to be harmful insects due to that they uses wood to build their nests (source see above), with some exceptions.

Yeah, Wikipedia is a wikisite, but it's not just a wiki. And it's one of the most accurate and up to date encyclopedias you'll ever find.

Why are they harmful if they use wood? Woodpeckers destroy wood also, are they harmful?

Wasps may be annoying, but they're necessary for the nature to function. Mosqitos on the other hand...
